7 Steps to become a professional artist

Hello everyone!
My name is Francesca Urbinati, nime080 (https://www.deviantart.com/nime080) on DeviantArt. I'm a professional artist and a freelancer on comics, illustrations and visual design.
Here are some tips from my experience about jumping from amateur to professional.
1. Make it happen
Nothing will come your way if you don't set the ground for it. In other words "don't wait for success to knock your door, smash his own door and get in (cit.)".
Don't waste time, keep on studying every single day and stay committed.
The 8th book of my comic series Niki Batsprite. Just a few years ago, this project existed in my head only. Now it's real.

So I've been thinking of writing all that down for a while, it's sort of a compilation on tips on different subject : drawing, fashion, stories.
Of course I'm just giving my point of view so some people may think differently. Different geographical location,education and cultures can affect your own view on the subjects.

Time does a lot of things, it makes you older, it gets you to places, it never stops going forward. However you control when and how you use it!
Everyone makes choices on a daily bases, most of them are actually done with your auto-pilot function out of habit.
Most people usually sit in the same spot on the couch, chooses what to wear based on previously made combinations and so on, unless they consciously become aware of their action and might decide it's time for a change. It can be a small thing that makes people aware of their options

There is no such thing as suddenly knowing when you are ready to turn your
passion into your profession. But there is a way of measuring your chances on being
able to get work and eventually sustain a living from it.
Accepting commissions or freelance for low payment won't help you. You can think any penny counts, but it will lower the worth of your work and damage the market.
